RIDDLED BUFFET

After the first edition in walnut, since 2011, Riddled Buffet is offered in ebony: the valuable dark wood confers further charm and elegance to the sculptural volumes, already characterized by the typical perforated texture of many famous works by Steven Holl. It consists of an aluminium frame and five elements made of 2-mm wooden sheets folded in an origami-like fashion, thanks to a complex and patented technological process. The result is a faceted container, light and bright as a diamond but made of wood following Horm.it’s unmistakable style.
Five different containers with door with magnetic closure made from a material designed and patented by Horm.it, composed of a sandwich of wood and fabric 2.2 mm thick, which, thanks to a number of superficial incisions made with a laser cutter, can be folded up like origami. Structure made from anodized aluminium, 3 mm thick. Adjustable feet made from anodized aluminium. Wooden crate.

The originality and workmanship of its legs are the outstanding features of the Riddled table, which incorporates the notion of porosity found in multiple architecture works by Steven Holl. The thin sheets of wood, folded through laser engraving, make this project even more spectacular in its apparent defiance of the laws of physics. These two legs, akin to origami sculptures, allow the passage of the internal light to create a myriad of lights and shadows.
Extra-clear tempered glass top with polished edge, 12 mm thick. Legs made from a material designed and patented by Horm.it, composed of a sandwich of wood and fabric 2.2 mm thick, which, thanks to a number of superficial incisions made with a laser cutter, can be folded up like origami. The stainless steel plates, measuring 30 mm in diameter and 10 mm in height, are fixed with M6x18 screws on the triangular frame made of solid wood and attached with UV adhesive onto the glass top. The legs are fixed on the frame with studs with galvanized thread and flat point. Optional LED system with rechargeable batteries (6 hour battery life) on the inside of the legs.
